1. What events can I participate in?
You can find a list of events and their rules on the Event Preparations page. There are events in nearly every discipline of science, so you'll most likely find one you're interested in.
2. Can I change partners/events right before the competition?
No. In case you want to change partners, ask before competition schedules are finalized. Please do not cancel right before a competition either. There will be an agreement that you need to sign before competitions to verify your attendance.
3. When are the competitions?
Check either GroupMe or Home of this website for dates (as well as schedules once they are released).
4. Why didn't I get my top priority event?
Sometimes scheduling conflicts won't allow you to compete in your top events. There are also limited spots for each event. If none of the events you asked for are on your schedule, contact one of the officers.
5. How should I prepare for my events?
First, look at the requirements on the rules packet. Most testing events will allow one cheat sheet, some will allow more than one, and others will allow binders. Use our Event Preparations tab to find good study material. Familiarize yourself with the content. If you are competing in a building event, check the rules to see what materials are/aren't allowed and specific measurements for your build.
Don't wait until the last minute to prepare!
6. How do I get reimbursed for material I purchased to help me prepare?
Participants don't need to pay out-of-pocket for supplies that are needed for their builds. However, it's crucial that the following procedures are followed:
1. Participants first need to inform the one of the officers of their purchase and the estimated cost as well.
2. Participants need to keep their receipt (extremely important)!
3. Participants need to give the receipt to the officer.
4. The receipt will be processed and the reimbursements will be given in about 1 week.
